Chengdu East Railway Station(Chengdudong Railway Station), also known as formerly known as Shahepù (沙河堡)Railway Station, is located in Chenghua District, Chengdu. It is adjacent to Longquanyi District in the Third Ring Road of Chengdu, and is adjacent to Yinghui Road in the north. It is part of China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd. It is one of the major railway hubs in China. It is one of the largest railway passenger stations in the central and western regions of China.
In December 2008, Chengdu East Railway Station officially started construction. On June 30, 2010, the steel structure project of the main station of Chengdu East Railway Station was successfully capped. On May 8, 2011, Chengdu East Station was put into operation.
Chengdudong Railway Station is a comprehensive transportation system hub integrating railways, rail transit, long-distance buses and other public transportation.
As of July 2018, Chengdu East Station covers an area of 683,300 square meters, with a total construction area of 220,000 square meters. The station scale is 14 units and 26 lines. The designed peak volume of trasporting passengers are to sent 24,000 per times.
