Introduction

Wuhou District was formally established on January 1, 1991. It is located in the southwest of Chengdu, named after the Wuhou Temple in the territory. Wuhou District is bordered by Qingyang District, Jinjiang District, Jinniu District, Chenghua District and Shuangliu District. Wuhou District has a long history and rich cultural and educational resources. There are Wuhou Temple, Wangjiang Tower, and other famous places of interest in China and abroad. The foundation is rich and fascinating. There are dozens of well-known universities and research institutes such as Sichuan University and Chengdu Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Leading the development of social undertakings and high level of public services, it is a “National Regional Education Balance Development Demonstration Zone” and “National Community Health Service Demonstration Zone”.

Wuhou District is a “high-tech cultural zone” and a “national advanced area for scientific and technological progress” named by the State Council.There are 158 high-tech and innovative enterprises in the region. The number of patent applications and authorizations have been in the forefront of the city for many years. Wuhou Temple

Wuhou Temple, also called ad Wuhou Shrine, located in the north facing the south in Wuhouyu Street, which is a memorial hall for Zhuge Liang, the commemoration of the Three Kingdoms. It covers an area of 56 acres (37,000 square meters). The main building gate, the second gate, the Liu Bei Hall, the passage hall, and the Wuhou Temple run through a central axis.

Today, there are precious cultural relics such as 12-meter high Liu Bei’s tomb (Hui Ling), Shu Han’s currency “zhi bai wu zhu qian” and 47 statues of Shu Han characters. In particular, Zhuge Liang’s “Chu shi biao” written by Yue Fei and the Zhuge Liang Wuhou Temple Monument are the most famous. Among them, Zhuge Liang Wuhou Temple Monument has reached a very high level among literature, calligraphy and sculpture art, and it is called as the “Three Unique”.

Chengdu Wuhou Temple Museum is a famous cultural relic of the Three Kingdoms at china and abroad. Located in the Chengdu downtown, it is the most prestigious memorial site for Zhuge Liang and Liu Bei. It is also the most influential Three Kingdoms Heritage Museum in the country. Wuhou Temple was built in 223 AD and consists mainly of Huiling, Han Zhaolie Temple and Wuhou Temple. It is the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

Wangjianglou Park

Wangjianglou Park is located in a dense bamboo forest on the south bank of Jinjiang River, covering an area of 118 acres. The main building in the park was built to commemorate the female poet Xue Tao of the Tang Dynasty. Its monumental buildings include: Xue Tao Well, Zhuo Jing Pavilion, Yin Shi Pavilion, Huan Jian Pavilion, Wuyunxian House and so on. The Chongli Pavilion in the park was rebuilt in the late Qing Dynasty and is extremely spectacular. It is a landmark building in Chengdu. More than 100 kinds of bamboo are planted in the garden which form the unique style of the park.

Qingshuihe Park

Qingshuihe Park is located in Wanshou Village, Jitouqiao Street, Wuhou District, Chengdu. It is adjacent to Qingshui River and the Third Ring Road. It covers an area of 333,300 square meters. The park started construction in December 2004 and was completed in September 2005 with a total investment of 22.3 million yuan. The theme of the park is the city tree ginkgo and the city flower hibiscus. Its historical connotation originates from the former emperor Wang Jian (847-918 AD).The park scenic area consists of the main gate area, the Ginkgo Square scenic spot, the children’s activity entertainment and fitness area, the lakeshore scenic spot, and the country oxygen forest scenic spot.
